Emily is passionate about Hedgepig’s mission because everyone should see their full humanity represented on stage – because that shared, understood humanity builds a more empathetic and connected community.
Emily is a director, dramaturg, and writer working at the intersection of storytelling and social change. She curates Expand the Canon, leads Future Facing Films, works on the Hollywood Climate Summit, and created an environmental justice card game with The Civilians R&D Group. Over her 9 years with Hedgepig, Emily co-created the Expand the Canon project, and directed 8 shows, including All’s Well That Ends Well, Mary Stuart, A Taste of Shakespeare, and Secret in the Wings. As a freelance director, Lyon has directed 8 world premiere plays, and worked with Hudson Valley Shakespeare Festival, Geva Theatre, The Old Globe, LaMaMa, Yale Rep, The Royal Shakespeare Company, The Folger, and others. As a freelance dramaturg, she’s worked with writers on shaping 25+ new plays, as well as editing classical texts, including The Tempest for Shakespeare in the Park. Michele Danna (she/her), Managing Director
As a fierce advocate for amplifying the shared female experience, I’m passionate about Hedgepig’s mission of providing a platform for women’s stories and voices, which have a long, powerful, and universal history.
As an actor, a director, and a professor, Michele is consistently working to elevate the lush and colorful landscape of women’s stories. While artfully balancing a meticulous sense of organization with a wild imagination, she is thrilled to be joining the leadership team at Hedgepig as Managing Director to help support the mission of amplifying gender equality through the classics. A proud AEA member, Michele has performed roles such as Lady Macbeth in Macbeth (Off-Broadway), Olivia in Twelfth Night, and Juliet in Romeo & Juliet. She was also a high school English & Theater Teacher, Director, and head of the Theater Department at Randolph High School and West Windsor-Plainsboro HSN. After a brief stint in Corporate Finance & HR Sales, Michele is currently a Professor of Acting and a Director at CCM in Morris County, NJ where she most recently directed Twelfth Night.

Alicia Carroll (she/her), Marketing Associate
Our mission is important to me because I want people to be able to fill in the gaps in our collective history left by historically excluding certain voices in the arts and in society.
Alicia Carroll is a writer, producer, teaching artist, and Arts marketing specialist from Philadelphia. At the heart of her multi-hyphenates is writing stories that amplify women of color and amplifying women+ storytellers so they can be seen and loved by many. A thespian at heart, her TV writing credits are rather theatrical, including musicals Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist (NBC) and Pitch Perfect: Bumper in Berlin (Peacock), as well as The Watchful Eye (Freeform). As a playwright, she has developed her work with IAMA Theatre and EST/LA in Los Angeles as well as The Workshop Theater in New York. She’s currently participating in Orchard Project’s Greenhouse Lab. When she's not writing or expanding the canon, Alicia runs "Write Bites,” a newsletter to help writers maintain a writing practice, and teaches TV Writing online. Alicia is a graduate of Emerson College, and currently splits her time between LA, New York, And Seoul.

Maraika Lumholdt (she/her), Managing Associate
Maraika is passionate about Hedgepig's mission because she believes theater can only be inclusive when we amplify the voices throughout the past that have been ignored for far too long.
Maraika Lumholdt (she/her) is a graduate of Carnegie Mellon University’s Master of Arts Management program who is passionate about supporting early-career theater artists and making inclusive theater. In addition to working with Hedgepig, she currently works in Finance at Second Stage Theater. Her most recent producing credits include FISH MEAT by Esmé Maria Ng at the 2024 SheNYC Theater Festival, and multiple iterations of One Day Down by Samantha Toy Ozeas.

Rhiannon Ling (she/her), Social Media Coordinator
Rhiannon is passionate about Hedgepig's mission because it serves as a way to foster both community and query into what's considered the canonical, societal norm - after all, it's hard to dispute another's humanity when you see their voice through the centuries!
Rhiannon Ling (she/her) is a queer, multi-industry artistic professional, specializing in the creation and development of politically-driven, community-engaged story across mediums. Her work often revolves around gender and sexuality and its entwining with history, politics, the arts, and identity; she is passionate about amplifying the voices of those silenced, providing unity in discomfort, and sparking genuine query between opposition. Recent credits include: All the Daughters of Viola’s House, The Collapse of the Hubbard Glacier, Seasons, The Interview, Rebound, The City of Forget-Me-Nots, Assassins, Nunsense, A Woman’s Kingdom (actor); Best Time to Be Alive, Monsters in Our Blood, The City of Forget-Me-Nots, Manic Pixie Dream Girl Goes to Brunch (writer); The Selkie Bride, Beethoven: Live in Concert, The Maids, (beyond) Doomsday Scrolling, This Mortal Life Also (dramaturg). Aly Homminga (she/her), Email Marketing Coordinator
Classic theatre should be more accessible and reflect the diversity that has always been a part of the world, and Expand the Canon is doing both of those things.
Aly Homminga (she/her) is a director, intimacy professional, and artistic administrator originally from Michigan, now based in Brooklyn. Her work is informed by her passion for feminism and equity in the arts and training at The Lee Strasberg Theatre & Film Institute and Theatrical Intimacy Education. She enjoys working on socially relevant theatre that creates spaces for people to explore their full human selves. As an artistic administrator, she has worked with institutions such as The Juilliard School, Peoples Improv Theatre, and The Lee Strasberg Theatre & Film Institute. Recent Work Includes: Romeo & Juliet (Intimacy Choreographer, Gallery Players), Catching Fireflies: A New Queer Musical (Intimacy Director, The Players Theatre), Complications of a Binary System (Director, SOOP Theatre Company), The Memory Of (Director, All Out Arts’ Fresh Fruit Festival, the wild project), and Moon School (Director & Developer, The Tank). Alysia is an Associate Member of SDC and was a nominee for the 2024 Barbara Whitman Award through SDCF. She currently works as Administrative and Literary Associate with Murmuration Theatre Company in addition to her work with Hedgepig. BA: Kalamazoo College
